Fucking wow. That’s all I can say about this. When I saw the headline in my RSS reader, my immediate thought was that the Daily News has to be kidding.

Remy Ma’s jailhouse nuptials were abuptly called off Monday when her rapper groom Papoose showed up with a most curious wedding present: a handcuff key.

"A wedding was scheduled today and a visitor to that wedding service was found to be in possession of jail contraband so the wedding was canceled," a corrections official told the Daily News.

"The key that was found today easily opened handcuffs that we and other law enforcement officials use," the official said.

The Brooklyn-born Papoose - real name Shamele Mackie - won’t be able to see his fiance now until November.

Again: wow. You have to admit though, these two are really setting a new bar for hood fuckery.

One of the key points in the phoner is Pap’s confirmation that his interview with 50 Cent was the match that light the fire. Pap also says that he was outnumbered by Fat Joe and crew and asked to fight a fair one outside. And he hints at tension that may be already pre-existing between his mentor Kay Slay and Fat Joe. Sharp-eared listeners will also notice that he references his girlfriend Remy Ma and her ongoing dispute with Joe.

Elsewhere, on MTV.com, Pap says much of the same thing….

“What happens in the streets stays in the streets,” Pap told MTV News … “It was definitely an altercation. I stood tall. Yes, I invited [Joe] for a fair [one-on-one fight], he refused. Yes, I put my hands on him. That’s all I’m saying.”

Pap said a falling-out between Fat Joe and Pap’s mentor DJ Kay Slay is at the heart of his problems with Joe.

“It goes back to the same thing,” he said. “If you having problems with any of my people, you have a problem with me. I’m a loyal dude. Don’t come at me sideways. I’m from Brooklyn. I consider myself to be the most hated MC….”

Ok, the extra bravado at the end was a bit much, but what do you expect. It’s rap.

On Thursday February 28, 2008 Rapper 50 Cent was hosting New York City Radio and had Invited several rappers to join him on the show including Max B, Papoose and Remy Ma. While 50 Cent was interviewing Max B, Papoose walked into the studio. When Max B went to say whats up to him and give him a pound thats when Papoose told him “put your hand away, what’s up with that slick shit you was saying about Kay Slay on the internet?” Before Max B could reply, Papoose went to approach him, but fortunately 50 Cent was able to get in the middle of the two rappers and seperate them.

Apparently Papoose & Joey got into a little something last night. Thisis50 reported the following information:

On Friday Feb 29 in North Corolina Papoose,Cassidy,Fat Joe,Gucci Mane,Yo Gotti,and Fabolous were booked to perform at The Criquet Arena. Before the show could go on, the Main Event happened earlier at The Holiday Inn Hotel in North Carolina, where the rappers had been staying at .Sources from Cassidy’s crew tell us that Cassidy had asked Papoose to come to his room so they could talk. Papoose eventually came to his room and while the two rappers were talking, all of the sudden Fat Joe and 9 Members of his Entourage storm right into Cassidy’s room. Fat Joe suddenly starts yelling at Papoose, “You Got A Problem With Me?” and Papoose replied, “No, do you have a problem?” When Fat Joe responds ” yeah, I got a problem with you,” thats when Papoose swung at Fat Joe, punching him in the face twice. Before you knew it all hell broke loose. Sources tell us that Fat Joe and his crew rushed the rapper and Hotel security had to seperate the fight before Law Enforcement could get to the Hotel. Sources tells us that they heard Papoose yelling at Joe, “Come on Bitch ass nigga lets take this shit outside give me a fair one.”



Based on 50 Cent & Fat Joe’s hatred of each other, I’d wait for some more information to surface before jumping to any conclusions. ThisIs50 also has the following image which reminds me of that fake Hip Hop Weekly cover. Hmmm…
