Video: Exile live on the MPC 2000XL
Exile - Bounce from Okayplayer on Vimeo.
Exile from "Below the Heavens" fame, goes Improv on the MPC 2000XL for Vimeo.
Jesus, I miss my MPC2000XL dearly. Someone suggested that I buy the MPC 1000, especialy because I already know the AKAI/MPC set-up.
Said it's relatively cheap and does almost everything the 2000XL did with the exception of a few things.
Can anyone elaborate?

Video: Hip Hop Honors 2008 Cypress Hill Tribute with Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Gym Class Heros
Fucking Amazing.
I can't believe I missed this. The chronological order of the songs follows the same time-line that my interest in East Coast rap started growing.

Video: Jay-Z on VH1 StoryTellers (American Gangster)
Is this old? Yes. But of what significance is a date when the product is timeless?
In light of all the teenaged tom-foolery I've been baited into posting.
Let me run this clip by you to clear the air.
This is artistry.
This is what keeps me inspired. When you see stuff like this it's inspirinig, and at the soul this is where my loyalty lies.
Jay is the epitome of a class act. I wish the youth coming up would take notes.

Video: The GAME's L.A.X. album release party in NYC (brings out Young Buck, Jim Jones, and JOE BUDDEN)
Although the initial stutter and delay with Buck coming out was a little amateur-ish, over-all I give Kudos to GAME. That Budden shit I couldn't of seen coming (pause) for the life fo me.
This man has really proven himself over the years. At the end of the day, no one can strip him of his acheivments. There have been very few to pull of what he did, considering what he's been through.
and L.A.X. is FIRE I'm sure you've downloaded your copy already.

T.G.F. NahRight - Cormega Interview with Dj Premier on HeadQCourterz Radio
NahRight is the unconstested shit.
Anytime I can get a Zshare of Premo's radioshow from anywhere I'm humbled. Paul Wall called in to confirmed that he Isn't DEAD and Mega gives a brief list of who's on Production for his new joint, and trust me you will like the answers.
Mega and Premo are two reasons why I think HipHop should never be forgotten and why I sometimes prefer New York rap over West Coast rap (shrugs shoulder)
I know that due to geographical allegiance, I should only be blogging about Bishop, Crooked, or any of the alleged "New West" but I have to stay true to myself.
anyway, listen to the interview and see what Mega MANTANA's been up to lately.

Video: Joell Ortiz "Good Times"
As far as rap goes, there's only a handful of others I place my trust in to keep me interested still, because as of about a year ago, my love for hip hop was put on life support.
My Top 5 inclue this guy include this guy and Buddens.
Ortiz is fuckin dope. Wish the good ole' Doc wouldn't of dropped him, but then again.. can you imagine Joell creating a record to Dre's approval on some club shit? Not his forte'
The pain and suffering niche' is more Ortiz.

Video: Alchemist feat. Prodigy and Nina Sky "Keys to the City"
FINALLY!!!... I can restfully sleep now.
Chemical Warfare has a release date. October 28th. Two years too late, but I'll take any new Alchemist shit reguardless of it's tardiness.
Nice Look throwin' "BabyBoy P" in place of his father.
The last time, this trio hit us with something, it actually took off. Hope this joint makes some kind of noise.

Big Ups to SP1200.net.
Wasn't too familiar until their videos started making rounds on WSHH.
This is what we need more of. Paying Homage to the ones who paved the way. Fuck all this Soulja Boy/Tyga/Yung Berg dis-respect shit.

Joe Budden - "Who Pt. 3" (Snippet)
shame how I'm only hearing of this ''trilogy'' now.
Buddens is truly, the last of a dying breed. I pray he doesn't Sean Carter us too soon, as we still need at the very least another full length.

"T.G.F. 2 Dope Boyz" New Music: Strong Arm Steady - "Can't Let It Go" (Prod. by DJ Khalil)
(Where's Phil? ... lol)
sometimes I be on some ole' suspect, Jay Electronica Tribute type shit when other blogs deliver these type of goods.
But my inner heterosexuality tells me .. RED LIGHT... Wish Mos's would've done the same for him.
But I aint never gave proper props to Eskay and them 2 Dope Boyz for being consistent and kind of inspiring me to even fuck with this bullshit still.
Although they probably don't even know my blog exsist for whatever reasons. I'll still be a loyal reader.
anyways.. anybody that knows me.. Knows I have a particular affinity for the Strong Arm Steady/ Soul Assasin movement. Being that I followed most of them from the very beginning of their careers and....
That they epitomize, what I deem, the perfect west coast sound, and also most importantly, the sound that could potentially, get people paying attention to us again.
So without further adue, here's a new gem from the brothas...

Video: Reks "Say Goodnight" Video (Prod. by DJ Premier)
Been knowin about this joint for a minute now. Wasn't to vocal about it, due to remembering Reks from being a random dude on underground compilations via' the Violent By Design/LandSpeed.
But this joint knocks, especially with Preem on the boards.

Soul Assasins Website. LAUNCHED and RUNNING.
I know alot of people don't know the background to a Blogger such as myself. One thing I can tell you though, is that the "Soul Assasin" Camp had a heavy influence on me growing up.
When Cypress dropped in like 92' or whatever, I thought I finally found my niche' in the hip hop world. They fused everything that I like together and on top of that they were LATINOS from the WEST. Sweeetttt...
Anyways, Muggs has the S.A. site up and It's official.
Click Here to visit the site - Soul Assasins.com
Check the "Downloads" for some ill mixtapes. I found one on there I'd been lookin for for years.
