Yung Berg Interview On WorldStarHipHop

Typically, I wouldn't post this bullshit. But I didn't know Cap One was Berg's bro.

For those that don't know, Cap One was featured heavy in The Source circa 98' 99'. He had a huge push (no homo) although, I never heard dude's music I used to see him all the time in the Source.

Solange Goes IN!!!!

Don't know if a "pause" or "No Homo" is in order, but for the sake of my reputation I will definently include one of the two in succession to the title. Especially being that I thought I'd never say that.

I'm not really an R&B head, at least not what people consider ''urban R&B".

I love that old soul, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, The Stylistics, Blue Magic etc. But I digress.

Solange is a name I've never tooken serious because of her elder sibling but she kills this shit. Here's a quote from her blog which I will not link you to. :)

“Unfortunately I’m in an industry where diversity is not celebrated the way it should be. When some people see and hear something different it feels foreign to them and they don’t like that. Everyone has a choice of what they like and that’s a beautiful thing! But record labels, managers, publicist, journalist, media etc… have a tendency to see something work and try to reciprocate that with another artist thinking that’s what makes success. To me what makes success is letting people be truly who they are.

Apparently she aint feelin the industry right now, and let's it be known over Kanye West's "Everything I Am" instrumental, which is funny because the original version's opening verse starts with the name "BEYONCE"

Video: KarmaLoop TV interviews Creators of Crooks & Castles

Jesus, it's about time these guys show their faces.

I mean they're responsible for one of the most innovative and original clothing lines of 07' - 08' and a big ups to them for revealing the concept behind the name "Crooks and Castles".

I remember wearing them when people were barely getting over the "all-over-print hoodies/BAPE" phases.

One of my personal fav clothing lines, and what would be an inspiration if my lazy ass ever pursued fashion.

Hate to say "I Told You So" but....

11 times out of 10 i'm over-ly correct about what "GOOD RAP MUSIC" is and most importantly WHAT IT ISN'T and I called this one a few months back, (click here dufus) not only did I do it here as one of my first entries but my videos on youtube date back a couple of months.

An Album I Care About Today: H.N.I.C. 2

prodigy_hnic-2.jpg

Here’s what an average hip-hop artist’s career cycle looks like (the long-standing ones, at least):

–>Starts off with 1 - 2 supa dupa album(s)

–> Gets stuck in a creative rut for 2-5 years

–> Bounces back with 1 exceptional album to hush the haters

–> Hits creativity wall again…You get the picture.

P’s bounceback album was the appropriately titled Return of the Mac, one of the Top 10 albums of 2007. Thankfully, he keeps the creative juice flowing throughout H.N.I.C. 2. He sounds more mature, more articulate, yet more irreverent than ever. Now, all that will probably change after he goes to jail. I can’t think of too many rappers that have been able to drop a decent album after being locked up. Must be that jail food.

Tracklist and Production Credits:

  1. Real Power Is People (Produced by Sid Roams)
  2. The Life (Produced by The Alchemist)
  3. Young Veterans (Produced by The Alchemist)
  4. Illuminati (Produced by The Alchemist)
  5. New Yitty (Produced by Sid Roams)
  6. ABC (Produced by Sid Roams)
  7. Click Clack (Produced by Sid Roams)
  8. Veterans Memorial Pt. 2 (Produced by The Alchemist)
  9. Field Marshall P (Produced by Havoc)
  10. 3 Stacks (Produced by Sid Roams)
  11. When I See You (Produced by Apex)
  12. Dirty New Yorker (Produced by The Alchemist)
  13. I Want Out (Produced by Havoc)

In stores on April 22

not lookin for props or a head nod, but when 9 out of 10 people call a spade a spade, that's just what the fuck it is.

I've known HNIC 2 was going to be phemonenal ever since a few of the cuts leaked like 5 months ago and apparently everone else is in Agreement.

Why can't rappers do this anymore. FOLLOW THE SAME SCRIPT that got you revered as one of the greats.

you see the production credits? I mean, a rapper of Prodigy's stature would usually be swayed to do more ''up beat contempary'' rap music by now but he know what got him where he's at and why Mobb Deep is who they are.

DJ PREMIER to aid Eminem's triumphant return....

various blogs across the globe have been reporting news of Dj Premier to be one of the main contributors to em's return...

(this story STRAIGHT JACKED from RealTalkNY.com)

Eminem’s "key to the city" produced by DJ Premier

One of the sickest emcees of all time connects with yet another top 5 producer of all time.  HipHopDX.com is reporting that Slim Shady reached out to DJ Premier for his production genius.  I am more than excited about a new Em album, it just might be what we all need (i hope we hear some joints very soon).

Hiphopdx:

“Man…Eminem is back,” Premier continues. “He attacked the track with a new style, just fucking ridiculous, kind of like how he came with ‘The Way I Am’ but even more lyrical like the old Eminem.”
